Snowfall

The target picture for the shader challenge "Snowfall"
Recreate this picture. You pass at a 99% match, then try to write it in fewer characters than the par.

How this challenge works

You write a fragment shader that draws the picture above, live in your browser. A match bar shows how close you are, and the score combines accuracy, code size (the par is 490 characters in Unity (Built-in)) and GPU speed. Work in HLSL, GLSL, WGSL, Metal or Godot and export the result when you are done.

The numbers you need

Grid
g = uv * float2(30.0, 22.0); g.y += time * 1.5
Flake in cell
hash(cell) > 0.75
Jitter
o = (float2(hash(cell + 3.0), hash(cell + 5.0)) - 0.5) * 0.5
Shape
1.0 - smoothstep(0.08, 0.22, length(f - o)) (f = frac(g) - 0.5)
Sky
lerp(float3(0.35,0.45,0.6), float3(0.1,0.15,0.3), uv.y) (light at the bottom)
