Plain-language terms for using this site.

Using the site

ShaderBattle is free to use for learning. Please do not try to break it, overload it, scrape it at high speed, or use it to harm others. Do not attempt to reach other people's accounts or data.

Your code and your account

The code you write is yours. We store it only if you create an account, so that it follows you between devices. You are responsible for keeping your password safe. You can export or delete your data at any time from your account page.

Leaderboard and display names

The leaderboard is optional and only shows people who switch it on. Display names must not be offensive or impersonate others. We may remove names or scores, or suspend accounts, that break these rules or that cheat.

ShaderBattle Plus

Plus is an optional subscription, billed monthly ($4.99) or yearly ($49), plus any taxes, through Stripe. A first subscription starts with a 7-day free trial: you are charged when it ends unless you cancel before then. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account page and keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for. The free site stays free: Plus adds extras on top. If we ever stop offering Plus, we will refund the unused part of any paid period.

Content

Lessons, challenges and guides are provided to teach. They are checked carefully but may contain mistakes; tell us on the contact page. Exported shaders are provided as is, to be used in your own projects.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is, without promises that it will always be available or error free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses from using it.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date of the latest change is the date the site was last published. Continuing to use the site means you accept the current terms.
