Privacy
What this site stores, and who else is involved.
In your browser
Your progress, code, theme and shader language are saved in your browser's local storage. Nothing leaves your device unless you create an account.
Accounts
If you sign up, we store your email address and your progress (solved lessons, your code, XP) so you can pick up on another device. Passwords are hashed by the sign-in service and we never see them. If your account is deleted, your progress is deleted with it. Accounts are optional: everything works without one.
Payments (ShaderBattle Plus)
Plus subscriptions are paid through Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers. We keep your subscription's status, plan and renewal date so we know you have Plus. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
With an account, the solutions you submit are saved so you can look back at them (the last five per exercise, or all of them with Plus). If you share a solution, anyone with its link can see that code.
Daily challenge
The daily challenge is read from our database for the current day. Reading it sends no personal information.
Advertising
Some pages may show ads from Google AdSense, which keeps the site free. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google's ad settings, and read how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Ads never appear while you are writing code, and never for Plus members. Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's own consent message before personalised ads are shown.
Fonts
Text uses Figtree and Source Code Pro, served from this site. No font requests go to third parties.
