Twisted rippling dots with a dark vignette
A picture built in steps: twist, then ripple the space, then draw dots, then color it, then finish with a dark vignette. Every step is listed below with its exact numbers.
How this challenge works
You write a fragment shader that draws the picture above, live in your browser. A match bar shows how close you are, and the score combines accuracy, code size (the par is 573 characters in Unity (Built-in)) and GPU speed. Work in HLSL, GLSL, WGSL, Metal or Godot and export the result when you are done.
The numbers you need
- Space
p = (uv - 0.5) * float2(aspect, 1.0)- Step 1: Twist
angle = 6.0 * (1.0 - smoothstep(0.0, 0.55, length(p))); turn p by that angle- Step 2: Ripple the space
p.x += 0.06 * sin(p.y * 10.0 + time * 2.0)- Step 3: Pattern
g = p * 8.0; f = frac(g) - 0.5; m = 1.0 - smoothstep(0.37, 0.4, length(f))- Step 4: Colors
lerp(float3(0.41, 0.52, 0.88), float3(0.89, 0.51, 0.42), m)- Step 5: Finish
col *= 1.0 - 0.55 * smoothstep(0.25, 0.85, length(s)), s = (uv - 0.5) * float2(aspect, 1.0)
