Easy Patterns
Triangle with a fade to dark at the bottom
A picture built in steps: draw triangle, then color it, then finish with a fade to dark at the bottom. Every step is listed below with its exact numbers.
How this challenge works
You write a fragment shader that draws the picture above, live in your browser. A match bar shows how close you are, and the score combines accuracy, code size (the par is 341 characters in Unity (Built-in)) and GPU speed. Work in HLSL, GLSL, WGSL, Metal or Godot and export the result when you are done.
The numbers you need
- Space
p = (uv - 0.5) * float2(aspect, 1.0)- Step 1: Pattern
d = max(abs(p.x) * 0.866 + p.y * 0.5, -p.y) - 0.2 * 0.5; m = 1.0 - smoothstep(0.0, 0.006, d)- Step 2: Colors
lerp(float3(0.12, 0.14, 0.05), lerp(float3(0.36, 0.83, 0.34), float3(0.65, 0.38, 0.84), uv.y), m)- Step 3: Finish
col *= 0.75 + 0.25 * uv.y
